Well that was fun!.....
We are so glad our friends in Victoria have FINALLY been let out of their stables!
This year, I think it is safe to say we have completely written off, and we will see you all again in 2021! lol
Only kidding!....sort of....
Our plans of a wonderful 2020 crashed and burned, but it did give us plenty of time to PLAN for 2021. We have wonderful ideas and works in the pipeline and we can't wait to share these with you.
Some of our friends up North in QLD and over in WA, were lucky to see a few events go ahead, with Irish horses competing, placing and winning in eventing, jumping and dressage! Be sure to tag us in your achievement posts, so we can include these on our news feed.
Our website and registration process is currently getting an overhaul. If there is one thing we have learnt this year, EVERYTHING can be done on the interwebs! So, we are making it virtually fool proof to submit all the details you need to pedigree register your Irish horse.
Emails will be hitting inboxes, updating members (be sure to check the junk folder) over the coming days.
Inspections for our studbook eligible horses will hopefully be kicking off in early 2021. If not in person, we will be coming up with neat ways to make sure these still happen. Even in these trying times, we have to get on with what we do best.....promoting and enjoying our wonderful breed!
If there are any foals hitting the ground, or Irish horses coming onto the market, please don't hesitate to let us know. We love to help promote and share where we can. If you are selling your Irish horse, or have recently sold, make sure you post into the society the registration paperwork. PLEASE do NOT give it to the new owner. We will follow up with them, once you have filled in the transfer form and sent us the paperwork.
Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook and website for any updates, and as always,

Last year Irish Draught and Sport Horse Society of Australia Inc. invited owners and riders of Irish Draught and Irish Sport Horses to respond to a participation survey. The analysis of that survey is attached.
Your responses were used to design the IDSHS (Aust) Inc. Best performed Irish Draught or Irish Sport Horse Sponsored Events Initiative with numerous events sponsored across NSW, Victoria and Queensland in Dressage, Eventing, Jumping, Show Horse and Working Equitation.
At each of the sponsored events, IDSHS (Aust) Inc. sponsors an award for the Best performed Irish Draught or Irish Sport Horse with winners at each event will receiving an inscribed wool kersey or cotton rug.
As you can see from the attached calendar, there are still plenty of events scheduled for 2018. The list of events is provisional and open to change based on your feedback. Please do speak up if you have alternate suggestions.
Conditions do apply, including the owner/competitor being a current financial member, horses registered or pre-registered and the need to submit an ‘intention to participate’ in a sponsored event via the official nomination form (attached) prior to the event.
Calendar and Intention to Participate Form can also be found on: idshsaus.com/members-only

Thank you to the members that have already sent in their entries. We will be closing entries 24 June 2018. to give Xandria and myself time to plan the day and to make sure all horses are:
DNAed (if need be)
Branding will be on the day and money paid directly to brander / vet TBA.
If you are bringing your mare forward for Studbook Inspection, please contact me for a Vet Report Examination Form, that must be filled in by a vet no later than a week prior to inspection.
The Irish Draught and Sport Horse Society of Australia Inc. is pleased to launch our latest initiative - the Best performed Irish Draught or Irish Sport Horse sponsored Events Calendar.
There are 14 proposed sponsored events across NSW, Victoria and Queensland in Dressage, Eventing, Jumping, Show Horse and Working Equitation from now through to December 2018.
The events were chosen based on the disciplines and locations indicated as most popular for Irish Draught and Irish Sport Horse owners that responded to the participation survey undertaken in May 2017.
The list of events is provisional and open to change based on your feedback.
Please do speak up if you have alternate suggestions.
At each of the sponsored events, IDSHS (Aust) Inc. will sponsor an award for the Best performed Irish Draught or Irish Sport Horse with winners at each event will receiving an inscribed wool kersey or cotton rug.
Conditions do apply, including the owner/competitor being a current financial member, horses registered or pre-registered and the need to submit an ‘intention to participate’ in a sponsored event via the official nomination form prior to the event.

There will also be the election of the 2018 Committee, and this is the time that interested members can put their names forward for a position on the Committee. If you would like to join us, and feel you can contribute to our aims, we hope you will take the opportunity to nominate. A nomination form is attached.
At the conclusion of the meeting we are offering afternoon tea to all those attending. We hope that people will stay on and take this opportunity to catch up with the Committee, other members and breeders. We welcome all current financial members and family.
For anyone who is not able to attend the AGM but would like to appoint, as Proxy, another member who will be attending, a proxy form is attached. Members need to note that:

If there is any business that members would like to raise, please forward no later than 14 days prior to the AGM (12th November).
For catering purposes it would be helpful to have an indication of numbers, so it would be appreciated if you could let me know by 19th November if it is your intention to attend.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend in person to the AGM, as I am now in the broodmare paddock! I will, however, be phoning in on our conference number, to be included for the day. If you would like access to this number, please let me know as it can only accommodate so many call in's at one time.
If anyone has any questions, or would like more information, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

We are pleased to share with you the provisional programme for the Irish Draught and Irish Sport Horse National Breed Spectacular.
The committee took on as many of your suggestions for the day as possible and have tried very hard to offer a variety of classes in a manageable program.
It was decided not to hold the Annual General Meeting on the day, freeing up the committee to focus entirely on the delivery of the event and to be available to you throughout the day.
We are able to offer some wonderful prizes thanks to our very generous sponsors including:
Entries will open in early October and we hope you are able to join us on the day.
As always, please feel free to contact Ali Geeves (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any queries.
Thank you again for your support, we hope to deliver a great event!
