Transfer of Ownership -
What to do if you have SOLD an Irish Horse?
Members who have sold a registered horse should POST the registration papers to the Registrar within thirty (30) days of the transfer to enable all records to be adjusted.
PLEASE FILL OUT the back of the registration certificate with your details and the buyers details. If your horse's certificate does not have this option on the back of their certificate, PLEASE CONTACT US ASAP.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR HORSE'S REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE TO THE NEW OWNER!!!
Please post to:
Registrar - Xandria Hughes
PO Box 53
Mirboo North VIC 3871
(We recommend registered post!)
We are changing the process of how a transfer of ownership happens. From 1 September 2019, it will be up to the old owner (seller) to pay for the horse to be transferred OUT OF THEIR NAME. This will be a fee of $70 (This will cover the new single membership of the buyer, and the transfer of the horse).
We believe, by leaving this responsibility up to the seller, it will encourage transfers to happen.
You do not want to be liable for a horse, that is no longer in your possession.
